Cock Fights and the Gospel

Hey Yall, I hope everyone is doing well! This week has been really good! It has been filled with challenges and a whole lot of joy! So lets get into it! This week I have learned the proper technique for cock fighting. Here in the Philippines, they prize their Roosters haha. And the President of our Branch is no different. He buys special shampoo, special food to make it strong, has a leash for it, and even sharpens his nails. Since I have been here I have seen my fair share of Chicken Fighting but this week my Branch President invited me to watch his match. He talked me through step by step, taught me the rules of Chicken Fights and how to win. And he knows what he is talking about... He won haha. But yes, that is a big form of entertainment here in the Philippines haha.  This week I have been trying my best to really dive into the Gospel of Jesus Christ, And how it applies in God's plan for us. It has been so wonderful to understand on a deeper level the impact that the Gosp...

Exchanges in Iriga

Hey yall! This week has been so so great! Nothing to crazy has happened. I went on exchanges with Elder Soriano in Iriga, which went amazing! It was great to see his style of teaching and to be serving in a big city. It sure is a lot different then Cotnogan. They even have a shower head in their apartment! So, I got to take my first "American shower" since getting here! It was so nice haha!  Other than that I have been really striving to have spiritual Personal studies and Language studies, in order to improve my teachings, and to feel closer to my savior, Jesus Christ. They have been really good and exciting! I now love to study, which before was one of my least favorite things to do haha. Anyways, that's it for this week. Talk to y'all next week. Elder Morgan

The New Year!

Hey y'all! This week has been such an amazing week! My Tagalog has been improving, I was able to experience a New Years in the Philippines and I have truly learned what it means, or how it feels, to love the people. So lets get into it. First the language aspect, this week I have been able to see a lot of progress! It is really cool actually, some of the grammar principles and sentence structures are starting to click, and make a lot more sense in my head. And I am able to talk with the members and people a lot better which has been leading to a lot better, and more personal relationships!  Second New Years, this New Years was so fun! The members stuffed us full of food and treats. But on New Years Eve when I was peacefully sleeping, I suddenly wake up to what I thought were gunshots going of in my room. I was a little bit scared not to lie haha. But, I soon came to find out that the fireworks here are less about colors and big shows, and more on how loud they can be. They were the...
