Hey y'all!
This week has been such an amazing week! My Tagalog has been improving, I was able to experience a New Years in the Philippines and I have truly learned what it means, or how it feels, to love the people. So lets get into it.
First the language aspect, this week I have been able to see a lot of progress! It is really cool actually, some of the grammar principles and sentence structures are starting to click, and make a lot more sense in my head. And I am able to talk with the members and people a lot better which has been leading to a lot better, and more personal relationships!
Second New Years, this New Years was so fun! The members stuffed us full of food and treats. But on New Years Eve when I was peacefully sleeping, I suddenly wake up to what I thought were gunshots going of in my room. I was a little bit scared not to lie haha. But, I soon came to find out that the fireworks here are less about colors and big shows, and more on how loud they can be. They were the loudest fireworks I have ever heard. And all of the Filipinos with motorcycles, tweaked their exhaust pipes and just let them roar, with pots, pans, and metal sheets hanging off the back making a lot of noise haha. It was such a loud, crazy night. But so fun to see what it is like here!
And lastly, I have felt a true love for the people in Cotnogan this week. Its hard to explain. But, during church yesterday we had just a wonderful testimony meeting! There were some in-active members who showed up and bore their Testimonies of Jesus Christ this Sunday, and it was so special! We have been trying to have them at Church since I've been here, and this was the first Sunday they have come. And not only that they bore such beautiful Testimonies of Christ. And at the end of the meeting, we sang a hymn titled "Love at Home." And during this song I felt a true sense of love for the members, for the people here in Cotnogan. I felt at home. I am loving it here in Cotnogan.
But that's it for the week, until next time!
