Party + Party = No Sleep!

Hey Y'all!

Hope all is going well. This week has been awesome! It has been fiesta time in our area, Panagan, and it has been a blast. There have been singing contests, dance showdowns, and even a Miss Gay Pageant! Lets get into it.

This week started out with a Mission Tour, a big meeting with all the missionaries in our mission, in Naga city. We were blessed to have Elder Bangeter, one of the General Authorities in our church, visit our mission. It was such a spiritual day and helped me realized that in our actions we see miracles. As we continue to have faith in Jesus Christ, and continue to follow him we will see the miracles, and the blessing in our life. I know this to be true. I have seen it time and time again whilst here on the mission. And while in Naga, we had a little time to spare before the meeting. So, we went exploring! As we were stalking the streets of what appeared to be a ghetto version of Japan. We saw it... MCDONALDS. At this point I have not had the luxury of partaking of the MCY D's for 9 months. Oh how glorious was the taste. 1 sausage Egg McMuffin and an Oreo McFlurry to go. What a day.

And now about this fiesta in Panagan! It has been so so fun! Food everywhere! There was Lechon, Adobo, caldereta, curry curry etc... Along with all this food, were many activities in our area. Right outside of our apartment there is a little open area, and they filled it with loud speakers, decorations, and lots of people. This for us meant no sleep haha. The Filipinos take their partying pretty seriously haha. Those loud speakers I was talking about were right against our wall. Causing the whole apartment to shake until about 3 am... It finally went quiet, thank goodness. We were finally able to get some sleep. Until at just about 5 am the speakers started up again, and this time even louder... needless to say I have been quite tired today haha. And if you want to here more about the Miss Gay Pageant, my parents would love to fill you in!

I love you all. And wish you the best always.

He Made it to Naga! (and survived his first Typhoon)

Hey lovely parents!  We had a level 3 Typhoon here the other day, it was pretty cool, and scary. Luckily it didn't hit us directly. But there was a lot of rain and very, very strong wind. Also I have heard Naga gets hit with the hardest Typhoons, so it should be fun! Anyways, I leave tomorrow morning at 3:50 AM hopping on a plane to Naga. I think my P-Days will be switching to Monday, but I am still not sure. It will be fun to finally be in the mission, and to see the area. I've heard I have the best mission president out there, who I am excited to meet. I'm also excited to get my machete :) I love y'all very much and miss you! Talk to ya next week! -Isaac Dear Morgans, This is Sister Hansen. President and I are so happy to welcome Elder Morgan to the Philippines Naga Mission! He is well and just met his new companion. We just wanted you to know he arrived safely and that his P-days will be on Mondays. We love him already and look forward to serving with him here! Warml...

Dalawang pogi

Hey hey. This week has been awesome! Here's why... We were lucky enough to have held a service project at the local police station. It went great. We cleaned their alleyway and they gave us snacks. I guess it was a win win. We then got to celebrate the good ole 1 year mark with barbecue and root beer floats. Which is quite limited here in the Philippines. Following the celebration, we had Zone Conference. I loved it! We focused on the difference between a testimony and conversion. And how we can help our interested people become converted unto the Lord. Zone Conference was then followed with exchanges. It was me and another american. His name is Elder Barzee. He is an awesome guy, and an even better missionary. We ended up finding a lot of new people to teach. While on exchanges, we went to dinner right. As we were eating we hear someone yell from behind us "marhay na banggi po sa inyong dalawang pogi" which in english translates too "good evening to you two handsome...

A Typhoon in the Middle of Summer!

Hey yall!  What an absolute amazing week it has been! It has been filled with funny stories and crazy experiences. We started off this week having a great day of missionary work. We were teaching and serving the amazing people of the Philippines, when all of the sudden we got a call from the Zone Leaders. They told us a big Typhoon was on its way to hit our area... we were instructed to pack up for 3 days, and go to Lagonoy ( a bigger city outside of our area. ) We were told to not leave Lagonoy until instructed otherwise. So we didn't. As the night went on we were really expecting so to see a big typhoon start to take way, but it didn't happen. There was a little bit of rain fall and some wind but, that was it. The next day came by and there still was no typhoon... we were wondering what to do. Do we work? Do we go back to our area? We ended calling the Zone Leaders, and they said to stay in Lagonoy until everything had passed. So we stayed and worked in their area.  As a Dis...
